This article is about the best way to install Netflix on Raspberry pi with a good video streaming quality, without any lagging or delay.

Raspberry pi

The Netflix isn’t really compatible with RPi, the Netflix use WideVine as its library so that the raspberry pi 3 is most suitable to install and watch Netflix, to have the good video streaming quality. If you go with RPi 2 or the later versions they are not good enough on their streaming quality. Even if you go with RPi 4, it’s not compatible because it doesn’t have the kernel with it. To have the good video graphics install the ExaGear desktop version 2.0. It has it’s own graphic acceleration hardware , so that this makes the video quality good and smooth to watch . To watch the Netflix videos without getting lagged on or delaying without bad stream quality only via CHROME  and CHROMIUM browser.

Installing Chromium on RPi by using git

You must have the RPi 3 because the RPi 4 does not have kernels . If you haven’t installed git , you can install using the following code in a terminal

sudo apt-get install git

We have to clone the whole depot to a specific folder, where we stored the files and go the following directory

sudo mkdir /opt/chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/tools/depot_tools.git

We need to make sure that disk space is empty enough up-to 15GB.

export PATH=$PATH:/ot/chromium/depot_tools nice fetch --nohoks --no-history chromium

If the speed of your internet is good and fast the downloading process will finish quick or else this will take a while to finish. Once the downloads are complete, compile the project using the code in the terminal.

./build/install-build-deps.sh
gclient runhooks
./build/hyp_chromium -Dcomponent=shared_library -Dfastbuild=1nice ninja -C out/Release chrome
